New districts formed in India in 2023
A district of an Indian state is an administrative and geographical unit,, It is headed by the District Commissioner (DC), which comprises of the offices of the District Magistrate ultimately responsible for maintaining law and order and District Collector responsible for collection of the revenue. The formation of new districts in Indian states ensures good governance. Due to population increase and lack in proper governance new districts are formed recently in different states of India.
As on Aug 2023, Four districts of Assam Biswanath, Hojai, Bajali, Tamulpur are formed in Assam . And with this Assam has 35 administrative districts in its territory.
19 new districts are carved out of the existing districts in state of rajasthan in 2023. With this rajasthan has currently 50 districts. The list of newly formed districts is as follows
Balotra, Beawar, Anupgarh, Didwana, Kuchaman,Deeg,Dudu,Gangapur City,Jaipur North, Jaipur South, Kotputli- Behror, Khairthal, Neemkathana, Phalodi Salumbar,Sanchore , Jodhpur East , Jodhpur West, Shahpura
Mauganj is the 53rd district of MP and Nagda is newly proposed district which will come to realization in near future.
